An anticholinergic is a drug that reduces the effects mediated by acetylcholine in the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system. It inhibits the peripheral nerve impulses that are responsible for the involuntary movements of smooth muscles present in the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, lungs, etc.
