A climber with angled or grooved stems. The tendrils are forked. The leaves are somewhat rounded in outline, 10 to 20 centimeters long, heart-shaped at the base, and sharply 5- or 7-angled or lobed. The male racemes have long peduncles with many flowers, which one or two open at a time, and the bracts are ovate and 3 to 4 centimeters long. The flowers are white and large. The fruits are globose, 8cm long, glabrous, red, and contain several small, brownish seeds and the fruit pedicel is 3cm long. |
