Description |

A very common spinous shrub grows up to 1.8 m. high. Stem is much-branched, spiny, compressed, stout, often recurved; leaves are large, sub-entire or pinnatifid, ovate, sinuate or lobed; flowers are blue in racemes of cymose clusters; berries are globose, reddish when young or dark-yellow, 8 mm. diameter; seeds are smooth or minutely pitted, 4 mm. diameter. |
