A medium-sized deciduous tree with grey branchlets and thick grey or pale brown bark that exfoliates in woody scales. Leaves opposite, imparipinnate, 23 to 38 cm long, pubescent when young; petioles 0.6 to 1.3 cm long; leaflets 2 to 4 pairs, ovate, ovate-lanceolate or oblong, apex obtusely acuminate, base unequal. Flowers yellowish-brown or white with brown spots, fragrant, borne in many flowered, lax, terminal corymbose cymes; calyx tubular-companulate, irregularly 4 to 7 lobed; corolla 8 to 13 mm long, tube cylindrical, lobes 4 to 7, with brown glandular raised dots on the upper sides. Fruits (capsule) pendulous, pear-shaped, woody, splitting open from the apex to base; seeds 3 to 8, winged. |
