A deciduous, thorny shrub or a small tree, up to 9 m in height and 90 cm in girth, with a bole 2-3 m high. Bark dark brown or grey, rough, scaly; leaves obovate; flowers first white, later turning to yellow, fragrant; berry yellow when ripe, 3.0-3.7 cm long, globose or broadly ovoid, smooth or obscurely longitudinally ribhed; seeds many, flat, about 4 mm. long, angular. |
