A robust, shrubby perennial. Leaves elliptic-lanceolate, tomentose or villose beneath; flowers white, in thyrsoid, tomentose panicles; nuts usually in baccate perianth.

Alleviates spasms, stimulates the cardiovascular and central nervous systems and diuretic (aerial part); astringent (plant).
People with a tendency to rheumatism, arthritis, gout, kidney stones or hyperacidity should take especial caution if including this plant in their diet since it can aggravate their condition.
