Description |

A large tree, 27 m in height and 2 m in girth. Bark grey; leaves elliptic-oblong or oblong-lanceolate, 7.5-19.0 cm x 3.0-7.5 cm; male spikes in lax panicles, longer than the leaves, female axillary, solitary and with solitary flowers; nuts ovoid, 0.75-1.25 cm, enclosed in involucre densely covered with pubescent spines. |
