Description |

A perennial postrate herb, glabrous stem. Leaves simple, alternate, reniform or broadly ovate, cordate at the base. Flowers solitary with a large sessile orbicular bract at the base, perianth tube cylindric with dark purple lip. Fruits oblong-ellipsoid, 12 ribbed glabrous capsules. Seeds deltoid with slightly cordate base. |

The leaves and root are used in the form of decoction and juice to treat wound, worms, fever and skin disease. Used to treat constipation, inflammations, amenorrhoea, syphilis, gonorrhoea, dyspepsia, arthhralgia and eczema. |
