A stout herb, 1.5-3.0 m in height. Roots very stout; radical leaves long-petioled, very large, often 60 cm in diam., orbicular or broadly ovate, cordate; petioles 30-45 cm. long; flowers small, dark-purple or pale-red, in tall, axillary panicles. |
