A common scapigerous plant with a stoloniferous rhizome; emerged leaves sagittate with narrow divergent basal lobes; scape 15-45 cm long with 3-5 whorls of 3-5 flowers each, lower of female and upper of male flowers; petals white, often with a purple claw; achenes flattened, with broad, entire or subcrenate wings. |
