An erect, profusely branched herb, upto 1.5 m in height. Stem angular, longitudinally grooved, hairy or scabrid; leaves alternate, 2-8 x 3-5 cm, pinnately or bipinnately lobed; flower-heads in axillary or terminal lax corymbose cymes, 4-5 mm in diameter, white; achenes obovoid, 2.0 x 1.2 mm, flattened, dark brown. |

Contraindication |

Repeated contact with this grass causes allergic contact-dermatitis in humans, cattles and other herbivores. Also, inhalation of its air-borne pollens causes
allergic rhinitis, reddening of eyes with swelling of eyelids, fever and asthma. |
