An erect, camphor-scented, variable herb or woody under-shrub, 1- 2 m in height. Stems quadrangular; leaves ovate, cordate, 5-10 cm long, hairy to softly pubescent; flowers light purple or dark red with deep blue lower lips, in dense whorls forming terminal spikes; nutlets smooth, polished, turning black when ripe. |
