Description |

An attractive, small, erect, deciduous tree growing up to 9m. The abundant, saucer-shaped, white or pink flowers, each an inch or so across and that appear before the foliage, can almost conceal the slender branches. The small, reddish fruits are edible but do spit the kernels out. |

Medicinal Use |

The seeds are used to treat dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, and postpartum abdominal pain due to blood stasis and masses in abdomen, for acute appendicitis abscesses, constipation due to dryness of the intestines, and for early pulmonary problems, cough and asthma. |
Contraindication |

|
It is contraindicated during pregnancy. |
