A globe-rooted perennial herb which can reach 20cm in height (8inches). The leaves are whorled. Three leaves each divided into three to five toothed leaflets. The leaflets have no stems. Umbel round and small. Flowers white to yellow (or sometimes pinkish); have 5 Regular Parts. Fruits green or yellow berries.
A tea made from the whole plant has been used in the treatment of colic, indigestion, gout, hepatitis etc. The root is chewed as a treatment for headache, short breath, fainting and nervous debility.
