A perennial vine growing to 1m. Leaves - opposite, entire; Opposite pairs, sometimes in a whorl, egg-shaped. Flowers - white; 5 parts (petals); 5-petals, white, 1/4" wide, late spring & summer. Pod closely resembling those of milkweed. but smaller.
Diaphoretic, diuretic and emetic

The plant is used in the treatment of dropsy. The juice of the plant is applied to boils and pimples.
