A tree reaches a height of about 20 meters. Leaves are alternate, and 10 to 30 centimeters long, with 5 to 9 leaflets; leaflets are smooth, oblong or broadly lanceolate, 7 to 15 centimeters long, and about 5 centimeters wide, the tip being pointed and the base blunt and oblique. Flowers are small, greenish and borne on panicles arising from the upper leaf axils. Fruit is inflated, smooth yellowish-red, dehiscent, about 1.5 centimeters long, and 2.5 centimeters wide, and is divided into two lobes, each of which contains a few seeds. |
