Description
A slender feather palm to about 12m (40'). Stems are erect having much the habit of tall Areca catechu, about 10 meters high. Leaves are pinnate, with the blade measuring from 70 to 90 centimeters wide. Spadix is ascending with 2 spathes; the male flowers are corolla; the sepals and petals of the female flowers are imbricate. Fruiting spadix is spreading. Fruits are orange-yellow, pendulous ovoid, the size of a duck's egg, and containing one seed.
