Rhizomes creeping, thick. Leaves many, leaf blade oblong or lanceolate. Inflorescence a raceme; labellum obovate, ca. 2 cm. Capsule usually globose, dry or fleshy, indehiscent or irregularly dehiscent. Seeds numerous, often angled, arillate.

Medicinal Use
The decoction of ripe fruits are helpful to treat abdominal pains, increases appetite, warms the spleen, to stop diarrhea and stops excessive salivation, tonifies the kidney, arrests seminal emission, and reduces urination, hence useful to treat enuresis.
