A perennial creeping plant. Stems ascending, 25-35 cm tall, lanate-villous, with hairs 1-1.5 mm, branched from base. Leaves are short, broad, woolly and soft, and indented at the edges. Flowers are small, of a purplish-rose colour, in whorls, in the axils of the leaves.

Anthelmintic, antifungal, antiseptic, diaphoretic and tonic (plant); vermifuge (dried leaves).
The plant is used for the treatment of TB, intermittent fevers and scrofulous complaints. A decoction of leaves is a good fomentation in gangrenous cases.
