A low woody perennial plant usually having several major branches. Leaves triangular, densely imbricate, 2-3mm long. Flowers small pink to lavender tubular, 15-20mm long, apically on branchlets, in raceme.

The dried leaves and twigs are used to treat acute vesical catarrh, giving very favorable results where urinary irritation is caused by gravel. It eases the irritability and assist in the expulsion of renal, urethal or cystic calculi, very useful in the treatment of jaundice and dyspepsia due to lack of biliary secretion, gonorrhoea and gonorrhoeal prostatitis.
