A herbaceous plant 20-80 cm tall. Stem 4-angled, swollen just below the nodes, stiffly hairy, rough and downward hairs. Leaves entire, elliptic-ovate, regularly toothed; pinnately veind, long-haired petioles, black-headed glandular hairy. Flowers crimson, yellow-blotched, small in many-flowered axillary pseudo-whorls. Calyx campanulate spiny-toothed. Corolla pink to blue-purple, white tube 14-20 mm long. Upper lip helmet-shaped, erect. Lower lip 3-lobed, median lobe entire. Fruit 4-achene, ovoid, dull, as broad as long: 3 mm x 2 mm. |
