A small sub-canopy tree (12-20 m high); Bole cylindrical (15-35 cm diam.); straight (bole up to 11 m long). Leaves spaced along branches, spiral (leaves occurring singly at a node and arranged spirally up the branchlet), simple (a leaf composed of a single blade); petiole present, not winged, attached to base of leaf blade, not swollen. Inflorescence axillary or on the trunk or branches, flowers on an unbranched axis, cones absent; flowers bisexual, stalked, flowers with one plane of symmetry, 6.0-10.0 mm long, diameter up to 10 mm. Fruit 30.0-55.0 mm long, yellow to black, not spiny, non-fleshy, simple, dehiscent, follicle. Seeds 2, much more than 10 mm long, not winged, broad (as wide as long), seed more than 10 mm diam. |
