Description |

Erect perennial, 3'-8' tall forb; stems square in X-section, mostly smooth. Leaf, opposite, strongly toothed, upper and lower leaves about the same size, surrounding stem forming a cup. Flower, head yellow, 2 1/2" wide, 16-35, but usually 21 or 34, rays, disk 1/2" - 1" wide; inflorescence of several heads in open, branched cluster. Fruit, dry seed, with no fluff. |
