A tall perennial which grows 1-3' tall on strong, upright stems with large blue berry-like fruits. The leaflets are tulip-shaped, entire at the base but serrate at the tip.
Can induce labor, regulates menstrual flow in amenorrhea, suppress menstruation, eases dysmenorrhea, decreases the pain and difficulty that accompany childbirth, for inflammation and congestion of a chronic nature, such as in arthritis (plant).
Contraindication
Do not use during pregnancy due to uterine stimulation. Contraindicated in angina or cardiac insufficiency.
