Description
A spring-flowering perennial plant grows to about 40 cm in height with a spread of 30 cm. The flowers have 3 Regular Parts and are up to 8cm wide (3 inches). They are maroon sometimes white or greenish yellow. The flowers are born on pedicels seldom over 8cm (3.15") long, erect or reclining on the leaves.
To aid childbirth, as a treatment for irregular menstrual periods, period pains and excessive vaginal discharge, ulcers (especially varicose), skin complaints, gangrene, insect bites and stings, as a wash for sore nipples.
