Perennial erect aromatic herb (standing from 30 to 120 cm high) containing a woody rhizome a four-angled reddish hairy stem. Leaves broadly ovate, entire or rarely toothed; flowers have a five-toothed calyx and produce nectar; the fruit consists of nutlets; used as a spice. |
