Health Remedies - Prostrate Cancer |
|
|
Prostate cancer is an uncontrolled malignant growth of cells in the prostate gland. It is a slow growing cancer and eventually spreads to other organs and tissues. It is more common in men over 50 years of age. A family history of prostate cancer increases the risk. The other risk factors include sedentary lifestyle, smoking, diet high in saturated fat, obesity, elevated blood levels of testosterone, exposure to heavy metals etc. Symptoms are often similar to those of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and should be differentiated from BPH. The important symptoms are difficult and frequent urination, pain or burning during urination, painful ejaculation, pain or stiffness in the back, hips, upper thighs, or pelvis, and blood in the urine or semen. Prostate cancer can spread to nearby organs and bones and can be life-threatening. |
