Health Remedies - Taeniasis (Tapeworm Infection)

Product Categories

Taeniasis is the infection of the digestive tract by parasitic flatworms called cestodes or woods. Tapeworm infection is acquired by eating raw or undercooked meat of infected animals especially pork or beef. The disease can be caused by one of several species of tapeworms, including Taenia saginata (beef tapeworm), Taenia solium (pork tapeworm), and Diphyllobothrium latum (fish tapeworm).

There are usually no symptoms. Tapeworm infection is usually recognized when the infected person passes segments of tapeworms in the stool. When symptoms are present, they include nausea, weakness, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, diarrhea and weight loss. Tapeworm infections are usually not serious. However, if not treated properly, the tapeworms can penetrate the intestinal wall and spread to other organs.
