Health Remedies - Trichomoniasis |
|
|
Trichomoniasis is a common sexually transmitted disease caused by the single-celled protozoan parasite, Trichomonas vaginalis. The vagina is the most common site of infection in women, and the urethra (urine canal) is the most common site of infection in men. Trichomoniasis causes a yellow or greenish, frothy or bubbly discharge, sometimes with a foul odor, as well as itching, soreness, and inflammation of the vulva and inside the vagina. Men infected with Trichomonas are often asymptomatic. Rarely there may be irritation in penis causing burning after urination and ejaculation. There may be slight urethral discharge and itching. Because trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted disease, maintaining sexual hygiene can prevent the occurrence of the disease. |
