Health Remedies - Vaginitis |
|
|
Vaginitis is an irritation and/or inflammation of the vagina. The three most common vaginal infections are bacterial vaginosis (BV), candida vaginitis (yeast infection) and trichomonas vaginitis. The other types include chlamydia vaginitis, gonococcal vaginitis, viral vaginitis and noninfectious vaginitis caused by an allergic reaction or irritation from vaginal sprays, douches, spermicidal products, soaps, detergents, or fabric softeners. Vaginitis symptoms may include vaginal discharge with foul odor, vaginal itching or irritation, pain during intercourse, painful urination and light vaginal bleeding. The risk of getting vaginitis can be reduced to an extent by genital hygiene, using condoms during sexual intercourse, washing diaphragms and cervical caps carefully after each use, and abandoning the use of feminine hygiene sprays, deodorant tampons or sanitary pads, and vaginal douches. |
