Health Remedies - Callus |
|
|
A callus is an area of thick skin. Calluses form at points where there is a lot of repeated pressure for a long period of time. The skin hardens from the pressure over time and eventually thickens, forming a hard tough grayish or yellowish surface that may feel bumpy. Calluses are generally not harmful, but may sometimes lead to other problems, such as infection. Tight shoes are often the common cause for callus on the feet. String instrument players and video game players develop callus on hand fingers. Sometimes callus can be associated with exposure to toxins such as arsenic, diseases such as syphilis and diabetes. |
