Health Remedies - Acne (Vulgaris And Rosacea) |
|
|
Acne is a disorder resulting from the action of hormones and other substances on the skin's oil glands (sebaceous glands) and hair follicles. These factors lead to plugged pores and outbreaks of lesions commonly called pimples or zits. It commonly occurs on face. Others areas like neck, back, chest, upper arms and shoulders also may be affected. There are two important types of acne - Acne vulgaris and acne rosacea. Acne vulgaris is an inflammatory disease of the skin occurring commonly in teenagers . The common symptoms include whiteheads (white, raised bumps), blackheads (tiny, dark spots caused by a small plug in the opening of a pore on the skin), pustules (small, inflamed, pus-filled, blister-like lesions on the skin surface), cysts (closed pocket or pouch of tissue), inflammation around the skin eruptions, and scarring and crusting of skin. Acne rosacea is a skin disease that causes persistent redness over the areas of the face and nose that normally blush. It occurs most often in adults (ages 30 to 50). Acne should be treated from early stages, otherwise it may lead to permanent facial scars, changes in skin color and damage to self-esteem, confidence, personality, and social life. |
