Health Remedies - Pemphigus Foliaceous
Pemphigus foliaceus (PF) is an autoimmune blistering disease. The blisters in PF is confined to the skin and there is little or no involvement of mucous membranes. Small fluid-filled blisters first form on the trunk. Because they form in the upper layers of the epidermis they rupture very easily and only erosions may be seen. On the face, scalp and upper trunk the lesions are often scaly and crusty on a red and inflamed base. A burning sensation or localized pain may be felt. The condition is often worsened by exposure to sunlight.
Asthma, cough and scrofula (root bark); eliminating intestinal worms (leaf). Leaf juice mixed with butterfat is applied externally to herpetic eruptions and pemphigus. Its resin is employed in syphilitic rheumatism.
