Health Remedies - Nausea |
|
|
Nausea is a feeling of sickness in the stomach characterized by an urge to vomit. Nausea occurs due to the irritation of nerve endings in the stomach or duodenum, which in turn stimulate centres in the brain that control nausea and vomiting. Nausea is not a disease, but a symptom of many different disorders. Nausea can be acute or chronic. When chronic and prolonged, it is a debilitating symptom. Nausea can be psychological or physical in origin. It may occur due to stress and anxiety. Certain factors such as unpleasant taste and odor, alcohol, fatty and greasy food, overeating etc may trigger nausea. It is very commonly associated with pregnancy. The other physical causes of nausea may include injuries, infections and irritations of stomach, eating disorders, food poisoning, motion sickness, vertigo, gallbladder disease, migraine, brain tumors, brain infections etc. |
