Health Remedies - Toothache |
|
|
A toothache is aching pain or soreness in or around a tooth. It usually occurs due to irritation of the nerve root of a tooth. The nerve irritation may be caused due to many reasons such as poor oral hygiene, dental cavities, dental abscess, gum disease, the emergence of wisdom teeth, trauma, dental infections, temporo- mandibular joint diseases, or spasms of the muscles used for chewing. Toothache may also occur due to non-dental causes such as ear infections, sinusitis, angina and myocardial infarction. The severity of a toothache can range from chronic and mild to sharp and excruciating. The pain may be aggravated by chewing or by cold or heat. |
