Health Remedies - Congestive Heart Failure |
|
|
Congestive heart failure is a condition in which the heart is unable to adequately pump blood throughout the body. Congestive heart failure (CHF) is generally classified as systolic or diastolic heart failure. In systolic heart failure the pumping action of the heart is reduced or weakened. In diastolic heart failure the heart can contract normally but is stiff, or less compliant, when it is relaxing and filling with blood. CHF becomes progressively more common with increasing age and is precipitated by lifestyle changes such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol etc. |
