Parkinson's disease (PD) is a degenerative neurological disorder which occurs due to result of the loss of dopamine-producing brain cells. PD usually affects people over the age of 50. The classic symptoms diagnostic of Parkinson's disease are rigidity, tremor, bradykinesia (slowness of movement) and postural instability. The other symptoms are shufflled gait (short steps), dystonia, soft speech, drooling, micrographia, dementia, insomnia, dermatitis, urinary incontinence etc. The cause of Parkinson's disease is unknown. Factors such as free radicals, accelerated aging, environmental toxins, and genetic predisposition may trigger the disease. |

Externally, it is used as an oil to relieve painful conditions such as neuralgia, dental and rheumatic pains. Hyoscyamus has anodyne, narcotic, sedative and mydriatic properties. |
