Anorexia is the decreased sensation of appetite. This term is commonly used interchangeably with anorexia nervosa, but it is only a symptom of anorexia nervosa. In this condition, the patient may eat much less than normal. Anorexia can be caused by a variety of conditions and diseases including anorexia nervosa, depression, peptic ulcer, gastritis and gastroenteritis, cancer, AIDS, chronic renal disease etc. |
