Restlessness is the inability to relax or calm oneself. It needs to be distinguished from other similar symptoms such as hyperactivity, nervousness, or irritability. The restless child suffering from Attention deficity hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) may exhibit inability to sit still, fidgeting with hands and feet, talking too much, foot wiggling, pencil tapping, leaving seat in classroom etc. |

It is a substitute for valerian, Valeriana officinalis, and used in the treatment of epilepsy, hysteria and convulsive affections, nervous indigestion, insomnia, depression and tension headaches. Externally, it is used as a deodorant and to treat rashes. |
