An erect annual herb, 30-90 cm. high. Leaves oval or ovate-lanceolate, pubescent,
denticulate; flowers small, light blue, in terminal and axillary racemes; capsules inflated, sub-globular, 5-8 mm. long, compressed laterally; seeds numerous, minute, ovate-oblong, coarsely reticulate, brown. |

Expectorant, diaphoretic, aphrodisiac, laxative, emetic (in large doses), euphoriant, posionous (can be fatal) in very high doses, alleviates spasms, increases nerve strength, psychological aid, relaxing and stimulant. |
