An woody climbing shrub with fuscous-cinerous bark, when young yellow tomentose. Leaves with coriaceous lamina, tomentose beneath, emarginate at the base, linear-acuminate at the apex, linear-acuminate at the base. Inflorescence superaxillary, finely tomentose; male heads globose, dense flowered; petals yellow, the inner three longer, spathulate. Fruit drupe, subreniform-globose, slightly tomentose, fuscous.

Treat indigestion, flatulence, diseases of liver, worms and fever (root); in case of snake-bites (stem decoction).
