An evergreen, glabrous, dioecious tree, 30-50 ft. in height and 3-6 ft. in girth, with a clear bole up to 20 ft. Branches slender; bark greenish grey, lenticellate; leaves bifarious, ovate-oblong; flowers in fascicles, pale yellow, fragrant; fruits globose (3-5 in. diam.) with hard rind, borne on trunk and main branches; seeds embedded in a gelatinous fragrant pulp, obovoid or oblong,1 in. long. |
