Aglaia elaeagoidea

In leprosy, for burning or painful urination (fruit); to treat gastrointestinal diseases (bark).

Balsamorhiza hookeri

For stomach problems, bladder difficulties, menstrual irregularities and other female complaints (root); used in the treatment of stomach pains and colds and as a steam bath for treating headaches (decoction of the leaves, roots and stems)

Barosma betulina

For kidney and bladder infections, cystitis, urethritis, prostatitis, gravel, inflammation and catarrh of the bladder, painful and burning urination, dysuria, colds and flu, stomach aches, fluid retention, heartburn, inflammation of the colon, rheumatism and inflammation of the gums.

Bergenia ciliata

Tuberculosis and other lungs problems, dysentery, fever, cough, spleen enlargement, ulcers, menorrhagia and urinary disorders (including dysuria and kidney stones) (rhizome); cuts, burns, boils and ophthalmia (root paste).

Campsis grandiflora

Lycopersicum esculentum

Used as a promoter of gastric secretion, a blood purifier and as an intestinal antiseptic (juice of the fruit); used as corrective for kidneys and a gentle natural stimulant and externally for burns, scalds and sunburn (fruit); used to treat enlarge prostate and the difficulties in urination (skin of fruit); in the treatment of rheumatism and severe headaches (plant); in toothache (decoction of the root).

Malva sylvestris

The plant is used in painful complaints of the urinary organs, gravel and pulmonary disorders (such as whooping cough) and in inflammations and abscesses of the skin. The leaves and flowers are the main part used, their demulcent properties making them valuable as a poultice for bruise, inflammations, insect bites etc, or it is taken internally in the treatment of respiratory diseases (whooping cough, coughs, bronchitis) and digestive problems. The plant is a laxative for young children. Decoctions of the plant, especially of the root, are very useful where the natural mucus has been abraded from the coats of the intestines.

Monarda didyma

For digestive disorders, flatulent colic and sickness, to treat urinary disorders, rheumatism etc

Mucuna pruriens

To treat roundworm, sterility, difficult urination and emaciation (seed and root);useful in increasing sperm count, ovulation in women, etc.; in leucorrhoea, menorrhagia, spermatorrhoea, Parkinson's (seed); in facial paralysis and nervous disorders (root); purifies the blood, cures rheumatism, asthma, cough, stone in the bladder and improves vitality (root decoction). Leaf paste is applied to ulcers. This herb is being investigated as a possible remedy for AIDS.

Stephania japonica

Indigestion, urinary difficulties, as an antidiarrheal agent, astringent and reducing fever (root).

Toona sinensis

Used to treat red spots on skin and as a remedy for gynecological troubles, including irregular menses (bark); to treat diarrhoea, chronic dysentery, flatulence, bloody stools, seminal emissions, leucorrhoea, metrorrhagia and gonorrhoea (decoction of bark); used to cool and to promote urination (powdered roots); chewed to stimulate digestion (young leaves).

Tribulus terrestris

In painful urination and impotency (fruit); in treating impotency in males, nocturnal emissions, gonorrhoea, painful urination, gout, consumption, kidney problems (including kidney stones) and incontinence of urine (decoction of seed); in treating cancer and to promote hair-growth (plant); gas, headache, ophthalmia and stomatitis (dried fruit). It is being studied as a potential herbal remedy against AIDS.

Vernonia cinerea

Useful for the purifying the blood, bile and semen, used as a specific for leucorrhoea, menorrhagia, and in the treatment of chronic skin diseases, dysuria, strangury, bladder stones, piles, worms and haematological disorders (plant); for the treatment of amoebiosis, humid herpes, eczema and ringworm and for the extraction of guinea worms, elephantiasis (leaf juice); to treat fevers, rheumatism and conjunctivitis (flowers); effective against roundworms and threadworms, leucoderma, psoriasis and other chronic skin diseases (seeds).

Vetiveria zizanioides

In stomach ulcers, increasing the secretion of gastric juices, as an astringent and in quenching thirst (root); in colic, vomiting and as a linimint (for lumbago, rheumatism and sprains) (root oil)to treat fainting, indigestion, thirst, diarrhoea, diseases of heart, cough, hiccough, respiratory diseases, difficult micturition, fever with burning sensation morbid thirst, and skin diseases.
