Alchemilla vulgaris

Helps reduce pains associated with periods as well as ameliorating excessive bleeding, in easing the changes of the menopause, for diarrhea, as a mouthwash for sores and ulcers and as a gargle for laryngitis

Belamcanda chinensis

Effective against a number of bacterial, fungal and viral organisms and has also been used as an antidote to snakebites (herb); in the treatment of acute laryngitis, acute tonsillitis, oedema of the glottis, cough with profuse sputum, liver complaints (root)

Daphne odora

In the treatment of backache, myalgia, skin diseases, poor vision etc (flowers, stem); for laryngitis and sore throats (leaves); for sore throat and caked breast (roots, leaves).

Ephedra sinica

In the treatment of asthma, hay fever and allergic complaints; in the treatment of night sweating and spontaneous sweating (root); to treat asthma, allergic rhinitis, catarrh, upper respiratory infections such as pharyngitis, sinusitis and laryngitis, colds, influenza and as a general stimulant (dried aerial parts)

Geum urbanum

For ulcerative colitis, mucous colitis, duodenal and peptic ulcers, diarrhoea and dysentery, liver disease, catarrh, tightens up soft gums, heals mouth ulcers, makes a good gargle for infections of the pharynx and larynx, reduces irritation of the stomach and gut, to remove spots, freckles and eruptions from the face, as a wash to haemorrhoids, vaginal discharges etc

Hyssopus officinalis

In the treatment of flatulence, stomach-aches, upper respiratory tract infections, coughs in children etc (tea from leaves); in gargles for quinsy and ordinary sore throat.

Polemonium reptans

For fever and inflammation, to snakebites, coughs, colds, bronchitis, laryngitis, tuberculosis and skin conditions (dried root)

Sambucus nigra

For infections related to the chills, in bronchial asthma, as mouth-wash and gargle, hoarseness, rhinitis and gum inflammation (flower); in sciatica, rheumatism, migraine and cough (fruit); as snuff to stop bleeding of the nose (leaf powder); in epilepsy (bark or flower); in colds, inflamed throat, gout, rheumatism and neuralgia (berries)

Sisymbrium irio

Infections of the chest and throat (leaf); in asthma (seed). The seeds have been placed under the lids of sore eyes in order to cause weeping and thereby wash foreign matter out of the eye.

Spilanthes oleracea

Helps to overcome nausea and vomiting by its stimulating effect on the salivary glands, dysentery, ease the pain of toothache, in non-mercurial ptyalism, and in inflammations of the mouth and throat, gouty and rheumatic affections, in uric acid gravel, in dropsical effusions, and even to remove intestinal worms.

Styrax benzoin

Used in the treatment of asthma, bronchosis, cancer, catarrh, colic, constipation, corn, cough, cramp, dermatosis, enterosis, gout, immunodepression, laryngosis, nervousness, rheumatism, stomachache, stroke and ulcer.

Zingiber officinalis

A household remedy for flatulence and colic, for diarrhoea from relaxed bowel where there is no inflammation, for atherosclerosis, heart disease, chemotherapy support, migraine headaches, morning sickness, motion sickness, nausea and vomiting following surgery, rheumatoid arthritis, belching, laryngitis, vomiting, constipation, incontinence, flatulence, colic, spasms, fever, eye diseases, asthma, colds, cough, arthritis, bursitis, fibrocystic breasts, lymphedema, in nervous diseases, and for incontinence of urine.
