Health Remedies - Ascariasis

Product Categories

Ascariasis is a human intestinal disease caused by the parasitic roundworm Ascaris lumbricoides. Ascariasis occurs when worm eggs commonly found in soil and human feces are ingested. The eggs can be transmitted from contaminated food, drink, or soil. Many people who have ascariasis do not develop symptoms. The disease is usually recognized when the infected person passes worms in the stool.

When symptoms exist, they include low-grade fever, cough, bloody sputum, wheezing, shortness of breath, skin rashes, vomiting and stomach pain. The worms may expel out through vomiting or normally through nose and mouth. Ascariasis can be treated with medications that paralyze or kill intestinal parasitic worms. Most people recover from the infection, even without treatment. However, severe complications may be caused by adult worms that move to certain organs or multiply and cause a blockage in the intestine, biliary obstruction or perforation (hole) in gut.
