Product Categories

Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease (STD), caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae. It infects the inner lining of the urethra, cervix, rectum, and throat, or the membranes (conjunctivae) of the eyes. The infection is transmitted by oral, vaginal or anal sex. It can also be passed from an infected woman to her newborn infant during delivery.

Symptoms of gonorrhea usually appear 2 to 10 days after infection. Some people do not have symptoms. Symptoms in men include burning and pain while urinating, increased urinary frequency or urgency, penile discharge, red or swollen opening of penis, tender or swollen testicles, sore throat etc. In women, it may cause vaginal discharge, burning and pain while urinating, increased urination, sore throat, painful sexual intercourse, lower abdominal pain, fever etc. Gonorrhea can be treated.
